AFCON 2019: Ighalo scores Twice as Nigeria defeats Cameroon to Advance to the Quarter-Final
Jude Odion Ighalo scored a brace as the Super Eagles of Nigeria defeat the defending champions, Cameroon to qualify for the quarter-final of the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ighalo opened the scorecard in the 19th minute before Stephane Bahoken levelled the match in the 41st minute, Clinton N’jie quickly gave the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon the lead 3 minutes after. The first 45 minutes ended 2 goals to 1 in favour of the defending champion.
Ighalo was on target again in the 63rd minute before setting up Alex Iwobi for the third goal in the 66th minute. The game ended 3 goals to 2 in favour of Nigeria.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will now face the winner between Egypt and South Africa.
