Jameela Jamil, one of the  15 influential women featured in the September issue of British Vogue, has revealed that Meghan Markle called her personally to apologize for the secrecy surrounding her Vogue guest-edit.

The actress, 33, had no idea the Duchess of Sussex was guest-editing the magazine until the last minute when Meghan Markle called her to explain and apologize.

Jameela, known for her work as a body confidence advocate, told Grazia magazine that she had been asked to write an essay for the September issue on gender equality, but had no idea the Duchess was attached to the project.

Eventually, Meghan tried to call her to explain but she unknowingly missed the Duchess’s call three times. They eventually spoke and Jameela said Meghan was so “warm, kind, and actually very LOLs”.
