Country singer Kylie Rae Harris dies in car crash aged 30

Kylie Rae Harris has died aged 30. The country singer and a 16-year-old girl died in a car crash on Wednesday 4 September in New Mexico. A third driver escaped with no injuries, according to Associated Press.

The Sheriff’s Office said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Kylie’s publicist confirmed her death in a statement to Billboard, which reads: “We are heartbroken to confirm that Kylie Rae Harris passed away in a car accident last night.

We have no further details to share and ask for privacy for her family at this time. Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music.

“The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you.”

Kylie’s last post on Twitter came just before the car crash. It indicated she was running out of gas for the journey.

She wrote: “Fuel range is 46 miles and I’m 36 from the nearest gas station. Dear baby Jesus please don’t let me get stranded in NM.”

Kylie released her first EP in 2013 titled Taking It Back and also released an eponymous album earlier this year.

She is survived by her six-year-old daughter.
