Protesting IDPs accuse government of abandoning them, block Tegina-Minna road (Photos)

The Tegina-Minna road in Niger State was blocked on Thursday, September 12 by some aggrieved Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) protesting over alleged negligence and inadequate security in their camps.

The protesting IDPs made up of mainly women and children, accused the Niger state government of abandoning them after being sacked from their villages by bandits.

The five IDPs camps provided by the Niger State government currently has over 1,500 people seeking refuge in it. Here are photos from the protest below;
