Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has reacted to the recent reports of Xenophobic attack against Nigerians in South Africa.

Pastor Adeboye during the September Holy Ghost Service advised his congregation and Nigerians, in general, to be nice to South Africans around them, he shared a story of how he was stuck in the east few days to the start of the civil war.

According to him, he was still a student on scholarship at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka when Colonel Ojukwu announced that he can no longer guarantee the safety of Nigerians who are not from the then Eastern region that are in the region, he further revealed that though the school planned to evacuate the foreigners from the eastern region but there was report that OAU student had held all students who are not from the then Western Region hostage in the West.

He said it took God intervention before they were finally released.

He further said that Nigerians should leave the Xenophobic attack against Nigerians in South Africa to the government to handle.

He also added that even if the Nigerian government repatriate all Nigerians in South Africa back to Nigeria, they will be forced to move back in a very short time as there are very few opportunities in Nigeria for her citizen.

Recall that earlier this week, there are reports of Xenophobic attack in South Africa against Nigerians which led to some reprisal attack against some South African companies in Nigeria
