Former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke to be Extradited from UK - EFCC

Some foreign auctioneers have been invited by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The auctioneers, we gathered were contracted to auction off the $40 million (about N14.4 billion) jewellery belonging to a former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The Nation reports that the auctioneers, who are internationally certified, will also be auctioning 242 trailers and tankers recovered from internet scammers.

The acting chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, while speaking at an ongoing stakeholders conference in Lagos, said the commission will continue to ensure that financial crime in Nigeria is reduced to the barest minimum.

Magu also said that the discovery of the number of Nigerian youth involved in crimes is from a statistics of arrest, prosecutions and convictions secured by the EFCC and other security agencies across Nigeria.
