Mufti said that self-care is important as one is human and should not feel bad for wanting to take care of themselves first.

He stressed that it is difficult to put in one’s best if one is in a bad state. The scholar also added that people should learn to say no without feeling the need to explain themselves.

In his words:

“Don’t apologize for taking time out for yourself. You’re human! Self-care should not be neglected. How can you continue to give and do your best if you’re in a bad state. Learn to say no when you have to without explaining yourself. Those who appreciate you will understand!”
