23-year-old footballer Timo Hubers becomes first player to test Positive to Coronavirus in Germany

Timo Hubers, Hannover star, becomes the first player to contract the deadly Coronavirus in Germany, cited on Daily Mail.

According to the club’s website, the 23-year-old picked up the virus at an event on Saturday evening.

And they claim the player has had no contact with his team-mates since picking up the illness.

The Hannover player is currently in quarantine while the entire crew and staffs of the second division club will undergo tests.

Director of Hannover Gerhard Zuber released a statement said:

“Timo behaved in an exemplary manner.

“He shows no symptoms himself. So far, when he found out that a person who had been with him at the event was tested positively, he reported directly to the doctor and temporarily went into quarantine at home.”

Training will be held behind closed doors and media appointments have been cancelled ahead of a league match with Dynamo Dresden.

But Hannover’s match with Dresden will go ahead despite the fear of the spread of the deadly disease.
