Nigerian Man urges Musicians to Respect Women, says they are Awesome Creatures
A Nigerian man simply identified as @mrdutchempire has made a case against Nigerian singers, especially the ones who refer to women with condescending names in their songs.
In Nigeria, songs about women dominate the airwaves and in many cases, they are often referred to with disdainful names.
Taking to the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, the young man noted that music artistes do not respect women anymore.
According to him, women are awesome.
@mrdutchempire mentioned the song, Wonma, by singer Olamide and how he depicted women in it. Wonma by Olamide talks about how it is impossible to satisfy a woman. According to the singer, even if a woman is satisfied, one cannot please a call girl as she would still get laid.
While stating his distaste for such names, @mrdutchempire told music artistes to stop referring to women as bitches and hoes.
He noted that those words are stale and should not be in use again. He urged them to stop the sexual depictions of women in their songs because they are not sex objects.
