Chartered plane conveying Nigerians to Lagos from Dubai makes u-turn after pregnant woman goes into Labour

A chartered plane evacuating Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates has made a U-turn.

The plane had to make a u-turn after a pregnant woman went into labour. Mother and child are said to be doing fine.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission, who confirmed the development, said the plane, which was scheduled to arrive at 3 pm is now expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 7 pm.

3000 Nigerians have signified interest to return home due to the Coronavirus pandemic. They will be isolated for a period of 14 days once they arrive Lagos later today.
