Lagos state appoints Joke Silva as chairman of Post COVID-19 Committee
On Thursday, May 22, Lagos government inaugurated the state’s Post-COVID-19 Pandemic Review Committee and veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva was made Chairman to head the committee.
The talented Nollywood star shared the news via her Instagram page, much to the excitement of her fans and followers.
According to Peco Hub media who broke the news, the committee was inaugurated to reactivate the tourism, arts, and culture sector of the state.
Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, during the inauguration, spoke on the state’s creative industry’s dormancy, following the coronavirus pandemic
She added that the committee was to draw more attention to the development of domestic tourism in order to revive the industry.
It was also reported that Ali Baba was given a special assignment by the Lagos government as well.
The coronavirus pandemic has already caused great changes in many parts of the world as governments in different countries to try to come up with different ways to handle its effects and to also flatten the curve.
