Nigerian government to pay Rashidi Yekini, Samuel Okwaraji’s moms N10,000 month-to-month

The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports activities Growth has positioned the mom of late Tremendous Eagles striker, Rashidi Yekini, Alhaja Sikiratu, on a month-to-month stipend of N10,000.

NAN studies that Olaitan Shittu, a consultant of the Minister, Sunday Dare, disclosed this at Ijagbo, close to Offa in Kwara State on Wednesday.

He introduced Ramadan items together with a 50 kg bag of rice, 10 kg bag of wheat and 6 tins of beverage to the aged mom.

Shittu recalled that the minister was at her residence in September 2019.

He stated that the ministry would even be extending the identical gesture to the mom of late Tremendous Eagles participant, Samuel Okwaraji.

Responding, Alhaja Yekini, who spoke in her native dialect (Yoruba), stated:

“I’ve been deserted for a very long time and haven’t seen any assist from anybody.

“I used to be hospitalised for a number of days some months in the past and final month. I did cater for myself regardless of scarce sources. I need assistance from Nigerians.

“This minister has carried out very nicely, particularly remembering me on this holy month of Ramadan. Since my son died, it has been very powerful for me because I should not have any assist from people.

“Rashidi’s siblings are not doing well too, so I was left to struggle for life every day,” stated the mom of the participant who died eight years in the past in Ibadan.

He scored 37 targets as a Nigerian worldwide from 58 video games and represented the nation in 5 main tournaments.
