#Coronavirus: 566 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Nigeria, toll rises above 25,000

#CoronavirusInNigeria: 11 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria; total now 81

566 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria yesterday, 29 June 2020, according to data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The total number of cases of the virus in the country has now risen about twenty-five thousand.

Taking to its official Twitter handle, the NCDC revealed that Lagos recorded 166 new cases yesterday alone, with Oyo following with 66 cases.

Till date, 25133 cases have been confirmed, 9402 cases have been discharged and 573 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The federal government on Monday lifted ban on interstate movement effective from July 1, 2020.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation chairman Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this during the daily media briefing.

National coordinator of PTF, Dr. Sani Aliyu also added that only fifty percent of the passengers of the buses are allowed during travels.

“Only 50% of the passengers are allowed with compulsory use of face mask,” he said.
