Government burns down house belonging to kidnapper in Cross River

A house belonging to an alleged Kidnapper in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State has been set ablaze by agents of the state government.

The suspected kidnapper, Edet Effiong Nyong was reported to have been among the suspects declared wanted by the state government.

The team who set the building ablaze was led by the State Security Adviser, South, Mr Ani Esin alongside DSS, Anti-Cultism and Kidnapping Squad and other stakeholders, Daily Post reports.

The building which is located at Esiere Ebom Street in Calabar South local government area of the state was burnt on Saturday.

It was learned that the suspect was responsible for the kidnap of the father of the former Director of DSS and he was also the brain behind the kidnap of a relative of the former Deputy Governor of Cross River, Barr. Efiok Cobham.

He was reported to have been freed from prison last year but found his way back into the business. He is currently on the wanted list of the state government:

“He was released from the correctional centre last year and thereafter, he went into kidnapping again” a source hinted.
