Kaduna lawmakers fight over mace shortly after House of Assembly’s Deputy Speaker is impeached (Video)

A free-for-all fight broke out among the Kaduna lawmakers shortly after impeaching the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.

The former deputy speaker of Kaduna state house of assembly, Mukhtar Isa Hazo, was impeached by his colleagues who passed a vote of no confidence on him and a new deputy speaker has been sworn in.

According to reports, Hon. Liman Dahiru representing Makera Constituency broke into the floor of the Assembly and seized the mace while trying to leave the complex.

The Sergeant at Arm grabbed him before he got a chance to leave, while other members quickly joined in to retrieve the mace from him. Dahiru ended up being dragged out.

Hon. Liman Dahiru according to The Nation was seen later with a torn cloth outside the Assembly Chamber, expressing his anger over the impeachment of Hazo.
