Kanye West employs Nigerian-British designer, Mowalola Ogunlesi

American rapper, Kanye West, has appointed Nigerian-British designer, Mowalola Ogunlesi, as the creative director of his Yeezy collaborative venture with clothing company, Gap.

The billionaire rapper made the announcement on Twitter on Friday.

He tweeted,

“Yeezy gap begins. Mowalola joins as YZY Gap Design Director…,”

The 25-year-old Mowalola Ogunlesi also took to her Instagram page to give an update on the appointment.

She wrote on Instagram, “Design Director of Yeezy Gap.”

The graduate of Central Saint Martins, London was one of six designers chosen by British Vogue to dress fashion doll, Barbie, in their signature style in honour of the doll’s 60th anniversary in September 2019.

Her designs have been worn by celebrities like Kim Kadarshian, Drake, Skepta and Solange Knowles.

Meanwhile, American rapper, Kanye West has hit the billion-dollar net worth, as he has officially become a Billionaire, making him the second American rapper to reach that status after Jay-Z.

According to a Forbes report, the rapper’s Yeezy brand assisted in pushing him over the $1 billion mark.

’Ye’s Yeezy brand, which he owns in its’ entirety and falls under the Adidas umbrella, helped push him over the $1 billion mark.’
