Five Women Nabbed Trying To Buy And Resell A New Baby In Port Harcourt (Video)

Five women were apprehended in Port Harcourt while negotiating the sale of a two-week-old baby.

One of the culprits, Mrs Roseline Nwokocha, from Umuahia was arrested with her sister, Chioma, at Rumuokuta junction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She (Chioma) had followed her to Rivers State to see the baby, Roseline told police.

She revealed this is a sought of business, as it’s not the first time she is making such negotiations. She also revealed that the previous child she bought cost her N1.1 million. The current child she was trying to buy was to be bought at N1 million, and she intended to sell at N1.1 million.

She was nabbed with the N1.1 million Naira in cash and stated that it was the buyers who gave her the money as she left Umuahia for Port Harcourt.

She pointed out another woman, Chichi, as the woman she was to pay the money to. Chichi, in turn, revealed another woman, Aunty Ify, as the person she was to get the baby from.

She (Chichi) said Aunty Ify approached her that she had a baby for sale at N950,000. She then added N50,000 as her profit so as to sell to Mrs Nwokocha at 1 million Naira.

Aunty Ify was asked where she got the baby she wanted to sell from and she said she has no idea. She said someone called her that they had a baby to sell so she set the wheels in motion.

Mrs Roseline Nwokocha was asked what happened to the baby she bought two weeks ago and she said the baby is in Aba with a couple.

Mrs Roseline Nwokocha couldn’t provide the name of the couple she planned on selling to, and also the name of the couple she sold to 2 weeks ago, even though she said a couple adopted the child.

A 5th woman in the group was identified as the mother of the previous baby Mrs Nwokocha bought.
