Hushpuppi was granted St Kitts citizenship after marrying an indigene in 2018 – PM reveals
New information about Dubai-based Nigerian Ray Hushpuppi has surfaced on social media.
Just recently, the prime minister of St. Kitts and Nevis came out to dismiss speculations that the Dubai-based Nigerian man who is facing a fraud-related case gained St Kitts citizenship by virtue of investing.
In a statement released by St.Kitts government on Monday, July 6, the PM made it clear that while it is indeed true that the alleged internet fraudster was granted a St.Kitts and Nevis passport, it was solely given to him by virtue of his marriage to a citizen.
It was revealed that Hushpuppi got married to one 32-year-old Shawana Nakesia Chapman in 2018, thereby making him eligible for citizenship. “Ms. Chapman, a resident of North Carolina, USA, married Mr. Abbas in Nigeria in October 2018, thereby conferring him with the right to St. Kitts and Nevis citizenship,” the statement read in part.
