Femi Falana Charged To International Criminal Court For Encouraging Crisis During #EndSARS Protest

A senior advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has been charged to court to the International Criminal Court, ICC, by a non-governmental organisation, Make Nigeria Better Initiative MNBI.

Joseph Nwaegbu, Esq. a senior Associate of Pathfind Attorneys on behalf of MNBI and addressed to the office of Madame Fatou Bensouda, the prosecutor, International Criminal Court (ICC) made the petition which was dated, 4th of November, 2020.

Falana in the petition was accused of instigating crisis that followed the #EndSARS campaign which claimed several lives.

According to the petition, Falana was allegedly accused of continued antagonism against Nigeria’s security forces, especially the military ever since the country returned to democracy.

Falana was further accused of not only playing an ignoble role in the #EndSARS protest, but he also termed a criminal.

This is coming after the Falana disclosed that he and other barristers are compiling evidence to ensure that the Chief of Army Staff, Turkur Burutai is tried before the ICC.
