Hisbah, which is an Arabic word meaning an act performed for the good of the society, is an Islamic religious concept that calls for “enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong on every Muslim.”

Hisbah, the Sharia law enforcement agency in Katsina State has destroyed over 300 confiscated cans and bottles of alcohol.

The action was carried out by Hisbah personnel in Daura Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, November 17.

It was gathered that the alcoholic drinks including cans of Star and Life beer, were seized from some individuals in the Local government area.

Hisbah was established to enforce a distinctive Islamic government. It tackles the problems of community security in a different way
