BBNaija Winner, Laycon becomes Sickle Cell Global Advocate, receives awards (Photos)
BBNaija 2020 Lockdown winner, Laycon, was recently recognised by a sickle cell organisation in the country.
The reality show star became a poster boy for people with sickle cell after he revealed his genotype during the show.
The talented rapper was given the awards of Ambassador Extraordinary and Sickle Cell Global Advocate by the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN).
Taking to social media, Laycon vowed to use his platform to create awareness about sickle cell and to help eradicate the stigma attached to it.
He also sent a word out to people with sickle cell, telling them not to be intimidated and that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
In his words:
“I plan to use my God-given platform to create more awareness about Sickle Cell Disorder in Nigeria and beyond. To everyone with sickle cell disorder, do not be intimidated. You can achieve your dreams once you put your minds to it. Never allow people define you.”
