‘Why I Chose Nigerian Clinic Instead Of Travelling Abroad For Treatment’ – Aisha Buhari

The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has explained her reason behind her decision to receive treatment at a private clinic in Nigeria when she rejected the idea of going to London after she fell ill.

The report, according to the Daily Trust, stated that this was contained in the recently launched book about the First Lady which is titled, ‘Aisha Buhari: Being Different.’ The report revealed that the book narrated the state of the Aso Rock clinic at the time.

The senior special assistant to the president on administration and women affairs, Hajo Sani, wrote the book and the book is a biography of the First Lady as it talks about her life.

The portion that speaks about the clinic situation reads;

“Another issue that stirred controversy was her statement on 9 October 2017, at a stakeholders’ meeting on Reproductive Maternal, Nutrition, Child Advocacy and Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAHN) at the State House, Abuja, in which she spoke about issues of national importance concerning healthcare services. She found it appalling that when she fell ill, she was advised to travel to London for treatment, though she refused.”

The book launch ceremony was held at the Presidential Villa on April 8. Noble personalities flooded the book launch ceremony as the rank and file of important personalities were present to grace the occasion.

The personalities included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, Dr Patience Jonathan, national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,  Ooni of Ife, Imperial Majesty, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Sa’ad Abubakar III, wife of former Vice President, Amina Sambo and Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Muhammadu Indimi, and Jim Ovia.
