“I’m not a Nigerian artiste, I don’t make money from Nigeria” - Singer, Burna Boy

Award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu better known by his stage name, Burna Boy, has stated that he’s not a Nigerian artiste.

According to the Rivers state born Grammy award winner, he’s not a Nigerian artiste because he doesn’t make his money from Nigeria.

However, in another post, he stated that he’s from Nigeria, and lives in the country because he loves his home and his people.

He tweeted,

“Me wey no even be Nigerian artist”.

In reaction to his tweet claiming he’s not a Nigerian artiste, a fan criticized the self-styled “African giant” for denying his fatherland while being an advocate of the African culture.

“But you dey promote African culture and you Dey deny your own motherland, all na showbiz as usual lmao”. The fan tweeted.

Burna replied the fan, insisting that he’s not a Nigerian artiste because he’s doesn’t make his money here, but at the same time, he’s a proud Nigerian who loves his home and his people.

In his words,
