“73% of women in Kaduna say it’s okay for a man to beat them” – Kaduna state governor, El-Rufai’s COS

Chief of Staff to Kaduna State Gov, Nasir El-Rufai, Muhammad Abdullahi has revealed that 73 per cent of women in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the State said that it was okay for a man to beat a woman.

The COS made the disclosure at the official launch of the 2021 State of the World Population Report by the United Nations Population Fund, in collaboration with the Planning and Budget Commission (PBC) in Kaduna.

According to him, the disturbing statistics were based on the current General Households Survey conducted by the state Bureau of Statistics, and currently being validated by relevant stakeholders.

He went on to add that the statistics called for great concern and that the Kaduna Government would look into it.
