United African Republic: Nigerians react to Change of Name Proposal Received by House of Representatives

House of Reps passes bill proposing VAT increase just like the Senate

Nigerians online are reacting hilariously to the news that the House of Representatives have received a proposal to rename Nigeria to either the United African Republic or the United Alkebulan Republic.

It was reported that the proposal was submitted to the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review as part of the ongoing constitution review.

The proposal was submitted by a tax consultant, Adeleye Jokotoye at the South West Zonal Public Hearing in Lagos on Wednesday, 2nd of July 2021. He claims that the current name, Nigeria was an imposition by the colonial masters and so it should be changed.
