Update: Christian Eriksen awake after Medical Emergency

Euro 2020: Scary moment Denmark and Inter Milan player Christian Eriksen collapses during game, prompting resuscitation attempts (Video)

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen is awake and stable in hospital following his collapse on the pitch during his country’s game with Finland.

Eriksen midfielder fell to the ground near the touchline towards the end of the 45 minutes first half at the Euro 2020.
His teammates and referee Anthony Taylor immediately signalled for the medical teams as Eriksen’s teammates formed a shield around him.

The Inter Milan player was immediately given CPR before being carried out of the Parken Stadium while his wife was been consoled by captain Simon Kjaer and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Upon leaving the pitch, Eriksen was pictured conscious as the media team and his teammates shield him with their country flag. Also according to a Danish FA statement, it says, “Christian Eriksen is awake and having further examinations,”

Denmark vs Finland match has officially been suspended by UEFA. A statement released by the organization says;

“Following the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET.

The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.”
