Udala FC boss, Philip Udala, assassinated by unknown gunmen in Anambra

The Chairman of Udala Football Club in Anambra State, Philip Udala, has been assassinated.

According to reports, the billionaire was murdered on Tuesday night, July 13, by some unknown gunmen who attacked his convoy in Eke-Agu community in Idemili North Local government area of Anambra state.

It was gathered that the gunmen initially attacked a police station in the area and were fleeing the scene when they ran into the Udala’s convoy in Abatete.

They reportedly opened fire on the convoy, killing everyone in the two vehicles before setting it ablaze, with the occupants still inside.

Udala, his security detail consisting of three policemen, and Godsent Eriobu, the manager of Udala FC, were killed in the attack.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Tochi Ikenga, who confirmed the incident, said the investigation is ongoing.
