DSS reacts to court order of N20bn payment to Igboho

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reacted to a court judgement issued on Friday, September 17, asking it to pay N20 billion to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho.

The payment is for damages done to his Soka home in Ibadan during the July 1 invasion by the DSS, according to an Oyo state High Court.

Justice Ladiran Akintola gave the order Friday, September 17, in a suit filed by Igboho, who is currently in detention in the Benin Republic.

Igboho had demanded N500billion for the damages done to his home.

The court declared the raid illegal and criticized the DSS for “arbitrary aggression and prejudices”.

Spokesman of DSS, Peter Afunanya who reacted to the judgment told Daily Trust they are yet to be notified about it by the court.

He said;

“The court possibly has not informed us. So, my official response is that I don’t have any comments.”
