Female NYSC Corps Member assaulted by Soldier speaks out

The female corps member of the NYSC scheme who was assaulted by a female soldier in Calabar, Cross River state has spoken out about her ordeal with the military officer.

The young lady has now been relocated to Lagos state. She left Calabar for Lagos state on Friday night September 24.

The corps member, Ifeyinwa Ezeiruaku, is seen in the 32-seconds clip, kneeling down, while the soldier, identified as Chika Anele, a lieutenant, kept scooping what looked like dirty water and then pouring it all over her.

The video ended with the soldier slapping her victim.

The corps member, Ms Ezeiruaku was doing her mandatory NYSC programme at the 13 Brigade headquarters of the army, in Calabar, where the incident happened.

Ifeyinwa was redeployed to Lagos last night, and while being interviewed at the airport, she said she was not humiliated or silenced by the other military officers. According to her, they empathised with her and condemned their colleagues’ action. She said the whole incident left her embarrassed and humiliated.
