Blind Nigerian man allegedly burnt to death by his younger brother over piece of land in Anambra

A blind Nigerian man has allegedly been burnt to death by his younger brother over ownership of a piece of land in Anambra state.

The victim identified as Mr Mmaduabuchi Nnofu, who is said to be the Coordinator of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, JONAPWD, Aguata branch, and the first male child of his family was reportedly killed by his younger brother, Mr Onyedika Nnofu, who is said to be the last male child of their family.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, January 30th, 2022, at Eziagulu village, Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area.

According to a source who spoke to Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), the suspect has been in conflict with Mmaduabuchi for a long time over the land and has on different occasions threatened to kill him if he doesn’t leave the land.

Around 12 noon on Sunday, it was discovered that Mmaduabuchi was allegedly whacked and burnt beyond recognition by the said younger brother, Onyedika.

According to reports, angry youths of the community almost lynched the suspect to death before the police intervened and took him into custody.

The deceased was described as a vibrant leader in the disability community and someone who can never hurt a soul.
