Lady cancels wedding after fiancé refused to join her in taking infidelity oath
A Twitter user identified by her handle as @purpleandflawed narrates how her relative cancelled a wedding with her fiance after the man refused to join her in taking an infidelity oath.
According to the cybernaut, the duo had initially agreed not to participate in the oath-taking, only for the man to tell his fiancee that his people insist that they partake in the usual ritual.
The lady accepted to take the oath only on the condition that he joins her in it, the man refused and the lady consequently called off the wedding.
The tweet reads:
“So apparently, in my community after the traditional rites and you perform this ritual. Your husband or wife runs mad if they cheat. Last month, my relative called off her wedding, previously discussed with her fiancée and they both agreed they won’t perform that rites.
Few weeks to the wedding, he said his people insists that the rites must be done. The girl said that the only condition is that same thing will be done for him and they both will be guided. He refused and she called off the marriage.
