New Yorkers honour Kobe Bryant by renaming Subway stop after him

Subway riders paid tribute to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant by renaming a Subway stop from “42nd St-Bryant Park” to “Kobe Bryant Park”.

Hours after his death in a helicopter crash was announced,  a makeshift sign was put up at the Bryant Park subway station.

The sign at the 42nd St-Bryant Park Station was plastered with the name “Kobe” over “42nd Street” in order to read: “Kobe Bryant Park.”
