Kano Assembly commences fresh probe of Emir Sanusi

Don’t complain of migration when there’re no jobs for citizens - Emir Sanusi

The Kano State House of Assembly has commenced a fresh probe against Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, following petitions it said it received.

The House of Assembly’s Chairman of the committee on local government and chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Zubairu Masu said it received petitions from two people to investigate the Kano monarch over allegation of unethical conducts that contradicted the culture and tradition of Kano people.

Zubairu Hamza-Masu said the petition came from one Muhammad Mukhtar of Ja’en Yamma quarters in Gwale Local Government Area, while the second petition came from the Kano State society for the promotion of education and culture headed by Muhammad Bello-Abdullahi.

He further revealed that the petitioners backed their claim with a copy of a video CD. The petitions were referred to the assembly’s standing committee on a public petition by the Speaker of the House, Abdulaziz Gafasa. The committee was directed to report back to the plenary in seven days.
