AFCON 2021: Senegal defeat Egypt to win first ever AFCON Title

Senegal have won the 2021 edition of the African Cup of Nations.

In a final that was billed a Mohammed Salah versus Sadio Mane affair, the two ‘best teams’ at this year’s took a final step to continental glory but only one of them could emerge champions.

Sadio Mane missed a penalty in the opening minutes in the first half and the game dragged on for a gruesome 120 minutes with either team failing to find the back of the net.

A penalty shootout was then required and Mane who missed a penalty earlier on scored the crucial penalty that crowned Senegal as champions.
