Morgan Fevre, a 22-year-old gay man was almost beaten to death in Manchester, UK, for wearing a ‘girlie’ jacket in the early hours of Sunday, April 10.

The young man relocated to Manchester from Retford, Nottinghamshire, because of the city’s perceived inclusiveness for gay people.

He was hanging out with his friends at the Manchester City centre when he was approached by a man who attacked him for wearing a “girl’s jacket”.

According to an eyewitness identified as Paul, his attacker had asked him, “why are you wearing a girl’s jacket, you f**king f*g?” before attacking him, leaving him with a bleed on the brain and a severely fractured eye socket and cheekbone.

Thereafter, an ambulance was called at about 2.15 am and he was rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary. He was then transferred to Salford Royal Hospital for emergency surgery to save his life.

According to reports, he also had three broken teeth and a badly broken nose, which was fractured in four places.

Confirming the incident, the Police said it happened around 1:35 am in Chinatown and it was a ‘homophobically aggravated assault’.

Morgan is slowly recovering and was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday evening, April 21.
